Do I need any prior experience or qualification to enroll in a scuba diving course?
No prior diving experience is required for our beginner courses! Our entry-level courses are designed for those new to the underwater world. If you’re looking to advance your skills or take specialty courses, some prior certification or experience might be necessary. We recommend checking the specific requirements for each course or reaching out to us for guidance.
How long does a typical course last, and what does it involve?
A typical beginner’s course lasts 3-4 days. It comprises three main components:
Theory: Understanding the basics of scuba diving, safety protocols, and equipment. This can be done online or in a classroom setting.
Confined Water Training: This is where you’ll learn and practice basic diving skills in a controlled environment, usually a swimming pool.
Open Water Dives: After mastering the basics, you’ll make at least four open water dives, where you’ll apply what you’ve learned.
For advanced and specialty courses, the duration and components might differ.
What should I bring with me for the course?
For the most part, all you need to bring is a swimsuit, towel, and a sense of adventure! We’ll provide all the necessary scuba equipment, study materials, and safety gear. If you have your own mask, snorkel, or fins, you’re welcome to use them. Remember to bring any completed paperwork or online training confirmations on your first day.
Is there an age limit for scuba diving courses?
Yes, there are age requirements. The minimum age for the junior certification is 10 years old, but they will have certain depth and supervision restrictions. The full open water certification typically starts at 15 years of age. There’s no maximum age, but all divers should be in reasonable health and may be required to provide a medical clearance if they have certain pre-existing conditions.
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule my course?
We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please inform us as soon as possible. If unforeseen circumstances like weather conditions prevent diving, we’ll do our best to reschedule or provide a voucher for future use.
Kindly be aware that we pre-book and pay for your space in advance. Cancellation charges apply based on the following notice periods and fees. Booked and paid-for trips cannot be transferred to another date without approval:
- Less than 30 days notice: 15% of the total amount
- Less than 3 weeks notice: 50% of the total amount
- Less than 1 week notice: 100% of the total amount
- 48 hours notice and no show: 100% of the total amount
